What is Neohumanism?
Neohumanism is a worldview that inspires us to feel an intimate and compassionate connection with all of humanity, including the animals, the plants and the inanimate world around us. The practice of Neohumanism incorporates a harmonious blending of western objective sciences and the subjective eastern meditative science of intuition. Students educated with a Neohumanist outlook go beyond simple technical expertise in their areas of study, to inculcate an honoring of our planet in a sustainable and benevolent manner.
Neohumanism offers a unique student centered and individually designed alternative to the mainstream educational frameworks that exist today. Neohumanism challenges us to embark together on an interdisciplinary learning journey that explores the interconnection with all branches of human knowledge – cosmology, law, medicine, art, literature, history, mathematics and so much more!
What is the history and scope of Neohumanist Education?
The Neohumanist system of education is based on the holistic philosophy of Neohumanism that expands the heart to include all beings, liberates the mind from narrow sentiments and serves the welfare of all through awakened conscience, as propounded by Shrii P.R. Sarkar. The Neohumanist Education network of k-12 schools, colleges, and universities, spans over fifty countries. IT includes over 1000 schools established over the past 50 years.
At the Neohumanist College of Asheville (NHCA), which opened to the public in September of 2021, we endeavor to offer a hybrid experience of online learning and mentoring to an international student body. At NHCA, a personal relationship of cordiality is established between students and faculty, regardless of the arena of focus. This personalized approach includes a reflective personal development curriculum for all round development on a physical, mental and spiritual level.
